Meet Foxy: The Heart Behind the Band

Foxy, a purebred Long-Haired German Shepherd, isn’t just Craig’s Medical Service Dog—she’s an integral part of the band’s soul. Trained by Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, Foxy has been by Craig’s side for years, providing unwavering support both on and off the stage. Known for her bright red hearing protection, she patiently lays beside Craig during every gig, exuding a calm presence.

Foxy has her own musical preferences, with favorite songs like “A New Leash On Life” and “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”—songs that prompt her to lay right by Craig’s side when played. Her discerning ear even made for a funny moment during the pandemic; if Craig hit a sour note on his guitar or sang out of tune, Foxy would politely excuse herself to the kitchen.

Foxy’s loyalty isn’t just about music. She was named Service Dog of the Year after heroically helping Craig escape a burning building—a testament to her bravery and dedication.

Both Dan and Kristi agree: Foxy is more than just a band member; she’s family. As Kristi puts it, “She saved my dad’s life and keeps him safe. That’s priceless.” Meanwhile, Dan humorously notes, “She’s a great band member—never complains, likes all the song choices… unfortunately, she came with the keyboard player.”

Foxy’s presence is not just practical—it’s profoundly emotional. She’s a reminder of loyalty, love, and the quiet power of companionship, embodying the very spirit of the band she faithfully supports.
